Packers QB Jordan Love Voices Strong Support for Teammate Jaire Alexander Amid Trade Rumors

Green Bay, Wis. — April 22, 2025 — Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love made it clear he does not want star cornerback Jaire Alexander dealt away this offseason. Appearing Tuesday on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams Show,” Love said he has spoken with Alexander about rumors swirling since the start of free‑agency and was emphatic that the two‑time Pro Bowler remains vital to the Packers’ locker‑room chemistry and on‑field success.

> “He’s a character in the best way,” Love told host Kay Adams. “Ja keeps everybody loose, but when it’s time to compete he flips the switch. Losing that presence — and his talent — would hurt us. I’m hoping he’s still here.”

Alexander, 28, signed a four‑year, $84 million extension in 2022 but has missed 17 of Green Bay’s last 34 regular‑season games with shoulder and back issues. Those availability concerns, plus his $23.9 million 2025 cap hit, sparked speculation the Packers might shop him before the draft.

Despite the injuries, Alexander remains one of the league’s premier man‑coverage corners when healthy. He earned second‑team All‑Pro honors in 2020 and 2022 and was selected to the Pro Bowl both seasons. Love believes that upside outweighs any trade‑bait logic.

The Packers front office has not commented publicly since general manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters last week there were “no updates” on Alexander’s status. With the 2025 NFL Draft opening tomorrow night at Lambeau Field, any deal would need to materialize quickly.

For now, Love’s message is unmistakable: keep No. 23 in Green Bay
